for me it's something in stainless. Oversize head tube for a tapered steerer, replaceable derailleur hanger, chain peg and pump peg, at most 2° slope on the top tube, internal cabling, threaded bottom bracket. Should be short in the back and stiff as possible. Built with campy (whatever has ultrashift when I build such a bike), carbon parts (zipp sl) and some really light carbon wheels to make the bike around 16 lb or less. That should make for a durable, all weather racing bike right? Genesis proved that a stainless bike can be made as stiff as pros demand with the volare 953, so the only problem would be the small fortune required to build one.
