Made this mistake 20 years ago. Immediately ran into the back of an SUV at a red light. Installed an "Oh S*%#" brake after that. Eventually learning the feel of the bike and had it removed. Love the feeling of a fixed gear. My EAI Bareknuckle is my baby. She turns 13 this year. Doubt I will ever go back to a freewheel.
