I had a shingles vaccine last year at age 65. I recently had my yearly wellness check-up and was told that there is a new vaccine out but medicare does not pay for it. Also my doctor said it was on back order at that time. This thread reminded me to check into getting the vaccine. I hope my medi-gap plan will pay for it.
The new vaccine (Shingrix) is administered in 2 doses, 2-6 months apart.
My 6 months was up in December, and I am
still waiting for it to become available for the 2nd dose.
