The bb 1000 seems to be a universal bb to handle both road or mountain bb sizes 68/73. I’ve tried all manner of spacer configurations but the crank clamps the bearing every time. After multiple tries, I’ve buggered the threads on the bb1000.
The bb1000 seems happiest with one spacer each side, but still doesn’t stop the clamping.
Wrong crankset?

Is your BB shell 68 or 73? That, along with the presence or absence of an E type derailleur will determine how many spacers you need to install.
Did the bottom bracket ship with 3 spacers?
