No, it didn't make any sense to begin with, and now it is totally absurd in economic sense.

That bike is way more complex to make and build than any other bike I can imagine (except for expensive alex moulton bikes), made in expensive material (ti), and made in first world country with expensive wage.

I am really really puzzled now - maybe Peter is extremely generous and giving away bikes that cost $5,000 to build at $1,500 with his own money. Maybe he made mistakes calculating the manufacturing cost. Maybe he didn't think about make both ends meet. Maybe he really found a totally new way to build bikes at 1/10th of the cost.

Anyway, let's see how this unfolds.
