I can't picture running, sirens notwithstanding. Though, to be honest, I barely even cringe when I hear a siren now.
Depends how many steaks I have under my sweatshirt and if they're frozen.
I was a pretty good age group runner around here when I began having cord symptoms from degenerative disease in my c-spine. I actually went all numb and tingly from the neck down one night. After the thing was rebuilt in 2008 with two prosthetic discs and a fusion, I've tried to lay off the vertical shock loading. My hands and feet still don't feel normal. So, I'm back to sucking at cycling, which doesn't have a very helpful age group structure, so there's no danger of me finishing the job in a race and ending up steering a wheelchair with my chin. Of course, that could happen on any commute...
