Yeah, I don't get how the cyclist knowing an auto is behind him makes said vehicle any less likely to hit him.
One thing I could use is a gadget that warns me when a vehicle with dog is approaching. It always seems to get me when I'm pedaling along and suddenly hear a bark at close range.
