On the subject of tandems, most Addictionites are aware that my wife has broken her back 5x, pelvis 5x, clavicle 2x, radius 1x, metacarpal bones 1x, ribs 6x, sternum 1x, and had breast cancer surgery in the last 3-1/2 years. She suffers chronic pain and two-wheeled riding in particular is painful. So, today's windy 12.2 mile ride was her first two-wheeler ride this year but she did it and she's happy. Even bought me lunch at the local Steak and Shake drive-thru.
