swapped the Proteks for the 40mm Marathon studs. moved the barmitts from the other bike. so I guess this is my winter bike. test ride in the parking lot & around our condo complex road including an icy hill. it passed muster. too late to go for a ride. I took it easy today cuz of a 36 hr headache
ordered an accessory extension (for the light & sportcam) cuz the barmitts cover up a lot of the bars
oh I remember this thread. this past winter I changed my winter bike from a hybrid to a mountain bike. also kinda weird I didn't use my road bike at all despite there being very little snow. I think because I wanted to play with the new (pre-owned) MTB
great off road with just a little snow
packed snow was the easiest to ride over
rutted snow & ice was fine
but these conditions were tough, kept breaking thru after rolling for a bit, that trail, that day, was better on XC skis
