We have had two black bears come into Philly in the last 3-4 years, including one this year. (And those are only the ones that have been seen.) The first one made it through the city without getting darted or shot by a citizen after stopping in a very large, wooded area for a swim. The one spotted this year was finally darted after a few days of raiding dumpsters. He was taken up north and released.
