For those interested in clearance on this bike, I'm afraid 38 is probably the max.

Here's the front fork clearance, which might be okay to go a little higher. Stock tyres are 700x38.

The rear is very tight with only a couple of mm of clearance:








In summary, I don't think you could get wider than 38 on the rear.
