I saw Mike and Heather at the ICU this morning. It breaks my heart to see him hurt so badly, but there are a few bright spots: he is able to be awakened when the docs need to, he can move his arms, hands, and feet. The broken back is going to be a bastard of pain, but is a recovery issue and not an immediate threat. The broken neck will have to have an MRI, but swelling needs to go down to see how bad it might be, and while the bleeding spleen has stopped, they have to watch that bleed closely. He's on air to keep that lung from collapsing, and he was going to surgery to have pins/plates put in his left hip.
