The Domane isn't a typical carbon disc bike and no, the porkiness isn't primarily due to disc brakes. There's an articulating cradle in the HT that allows the steerer to flex from crown to stem to provide additional compliance. Likewise, there's a bearing/pivot point in the TT/ST junction that allows additional rear compliance, essentially allowing seat post flex below the junction and along most of the seat tube. The 2020 models has clearance for 38mm tires and come standard with 32s. The wheels on the $2500 model are 2kg pigs.
