Your point is well taken but actually I was thinking of the joggers, dog walkers and rollerbladers that I see on the MUP. Most of whom evaluate me as some kind of a potential threat. After I am past them they can say, "Oh, it's OK, that was just some dork."
Personally I think it's pretty big of me to go out of my way to make rollerbladers feel like normal people. It's a public service that I provide at no charge.
