I have yet to meet an RD (been to several since I'm a diabetic) that has suggested going less then 70gms/day. I imagine if I was 5 ft tall and weighed 120lbs, 50 may be in range, but that's not the middle of the bell curve, now is it?

just for giggles, I entered a 69y.o. male 5'2" (smallest size it would accept) and sedentary lifestyle. 66gms/day of protein.
