Good idea. There are many studies which found that it helps a little. I started taking glucosamine sulfate 35 years ago. The docs say my knee cartilage is nearly perfect. Restoring gone cartilage is one thing, preventing it or slowing it from going away is another. I see absolutely no down side to it. A clinical dose is 3g/day, 2 in morning, 1 at night, and 1g of MSM at night. They say give it 6 months before you decide it didn't do anything. But even then, if no improvement, there's evidence that it slows decay. I've never taken that much, more like 1g/day, but then I don't have any problems.
