What do regular cycle mounted cops use? In any case I agree that a single cop on a bike would not find much success trying to pull over cars from behind.
I have seen more than one cycle cop writing tickets for traffic violations. It easy to catch up to them in heavy traffic.
I have seen some with blue and red alternating strobes mounted on their bikes, I believe I heard one with a siren too in Iowa City.
The cop was in hot pursuit of something and was rolling down a long hill.
