Problem putting tire back on new bike

I bought a new Marin San Rafael DS1 about three weeks ago while living in quarantine, both because I needed to get around there and I don't anticipate getting on public transportation in the near future thanks to COVID. It worked great, no issues whatsoever. Yesterday, I moved back home, and in order to do so I had to take off the front tire in order to fit it in the back of the car, which was pretty tightly packed. When I got back and tried to put the tire back on, the brakes were so tight that they would hardly allow the disk to slide in, and if I forced it, the tire wouldn't move at all. Nothing looks broken or bent, and the disk on the wheel is straight. My best guess is that the break pads are too close together, and they must have been forced together somehow during the move.

How do I fix this? It has a hydraulic brakes system, and I'm not at all experienced in biking or fixing my own bike. I've tried to attach pictures, but I get errors. Thanks for any advice.
