I don’t know what you did to your chain, but alcohol won’t rust it - it evaporates too fast. It’s more likely your wax mixture didn’t adhere to the metal.

At any rate, this stuff works and it’s highly recommended. No such problems as you mention over the last several months including high humidity etc..

No idea how it happened. It was straight paraffin and alcohol, no additives. Indoor bike ridden on rollers only, so no exposure to outside elements.
