However, in answer to your question ... if you're doing 9 miles a day 4 days a week, and you feel fine, go ahead and up the distance a bit! The general recommendation for new riders is 10% per week, so if you do 36 miles one week, do 40 miles the next week. However, since you are already quite active with your jogging, you could probably increase your distance more than that. Go for a 15 mile ride and see how you feel. If you feel pretty tired out, back off a little bit to 12 miles or so. If you feel a little bit tired, keep it at 15 miles for a week or two. If 15 miles feels pretty good, ride 15 the next time you go out to be sure it still feels good, and then you might consider trying a 20 mile ride.

One suggestion ... as you increase your distances on the bicycle, keep at least one day relatively short to work on your speed (i.e. 15-20 miles), keep another day relatively short to use as a recovery ride day (i.e. 15-20 miles), and then increase the distance on the other two days up to whatever distance you want to ride.
