If you are going to Tucson in November you might want to look into the El Tour de Tucson. Usually the week before Thanksgiving. Never ridden it but I've heard it is a great ride. They get like 8,000 riders which I cannot imagine.
Anyway, you could get a 100 miler there.

Great event! I rode it several years ago. Amazing number of riders! I think I left a bike “in line” at 4am to reserve a place in the 5+ hour cluster.
