Knocking on a stranger's door shouldnt be something that could cause concern for bodily harm. Thats absurd and unjustifiable.
Package deliveries get a doorbell or knock sometimes.

Your in Iowa, can be a bit different in other parts of the country. Lots of robberies start with a knock on the door. Fortunately where I live, at least it depends on the time of day.
