CAT7 my wife & I have done the 70 mile route last 5 years. It is a great ride well organized & the whole town is involved I think you'd enjoy it.
O-B yep that climb up 38 to Onyx can take the wind out of your sails alright. I've often wondered how easier it would be at lower elevation.
Funny the short punchier climbs up & around the golf course & zoo towards the end of the route are much easier for me as they're only @ 6500' ASL or so!
