There are several major construction projects downtown and on the near east side, including a residential "high-rise" (as much as "high" means, in a city with an ordinance that prohibits building higher than the Capitol dome) being built just a half-block down the street. Work on the projects don't appear to have slowed down a bit. Up until yesterday, they would affect my commute, because I never knew in advance if the route would be blocked by a cement truck, a tractor-trailer rig full of material, etc. Starting tomorrow, I'm teleworking, so I just have to be mindful of the construction noise in the background while on the phone.

The city hasn't seen a skyline _without_ a construction crane for years, and I see no sign of that changing.
