I will. Just trying to get a general understanding of the problem so I can discuss it more intelligently.
On that front, the other issue is the mystery noise (and suspected spinning resistance).
ls01 suggested it might be the free hub which seemed possible to me. The mechanic said he looked at it and it was OK except I think he said they replaced a spring. He hadn't test ridden it yet. Should I press him more on this? One thing I noticed about the noise--it got worse several miles into the ride (why?), so it may be hard to replicate in the shop.
