Upside down? I mean, maybe to someone else they are? I've always ridden them like that. You can pull them tighter, when yer foot is in the up position if ya need to, as long as the end of the strap isn't looped into the buckle(like in the pic). Maybe it is upside down, but it works for me.

I have another set of Christophe leather straps that i'm gonna double them up with.
Based on the pic I'm guessing that when you tighten them you have to pull the strap down, right?

I always felt it was easier to tighten them with the buckle the other way. I usually tighten them by just pulling up, or holding the end of the strap while the pedal rotates down. Anyway, not saying there's any right or wrong way. If it's been working for you do your thing.
