Perhaps we'll see a new style of carbon fiber hitting the market.

When I think of carbon fiber, I think of a fabric with resin binding. But, perhaps one could also simply injection mold a fiber reinforced plastic.

It should also be noted how cheaply fiberglass products can be made, and it is generally done with a random oriented mat.

So, if the raw materials for carbon fiber drop in cost, we might see falling prices. That is unless the carbon fiber guild can prop them back up.
