One other observation. On our trips to the UK, mostly in the south, I've notice a duality of terms with temperature. When discussing the weather many folks use Celsius for describing cold and Fahrenheit for describing hot. It occurred to me that those choices make the conditions sound more arduous and heroic. -15°C and 98°F sound better than their counterparts. I'm fine with that 😊. Just my style too.
