Goodness - nice save! That's a very nice and fine riding bike; I have a '73 but it sure isn't as nice as that one. Did your brother have kids? If so, maybe keeping it for them would be best.

due ruote, for the kind thoughts. No, no kids that are interested or that it even would fit. Not sure what I'm going to do with it now. It obviously has some sentimental value, but unfortunately it's too small for me.
Anyway, after many (enjoyable) hours of rebuilding, replacing, cleaning & polishing, and a little over $100, here's the result:
