New crankset spacer question

I changed my crankset--same company and model except from 46/36 to 50/34, same BB compatibility--but I noticed the spindle of the new crank is 5mm shorter than the old one. The old crank has different numbers on it as well as "DB" on it which I'm assuming is for my Diamondback gravel bike.

Without the spacers the new cranks clear the chainstays but I noticed my right heel can rub the chainstay if I angle my foot. OK, so don't angle the foot, I know, but I'm going to now and again.

Are my cranks going to be loose or fall off or be dangerous if I add the 2.5mm spacer onto the drive side?

Thanks,
Paul
