OK....
More from me about this now....

"Event" posted later in the thread about being a supportive member here.
I agree.
"Event" has been one of the guys that encouraged me and gave me solid advice about the little racing I do, and for that I say thanks.

He has never struck me as a snob or smart-arse here.....

In his defense on this, I can see his point.
Perhaps most of us have been in a situation like this, only on a smaller (and slower) scale.

What his post is really about is dealing with unwanted riders who attach themselves to you like those little fish that suck onto the shark. I do believe it IS dangerous and it IS rude to do that.

And in Event's case, the danger part is magnified because of the shear speed and numbers involved.
That doesn't make him a snob.

What to take from all of this?
Please, please, please.....no matter if it's one guy going 15 mph or ten guys going 30 mph....if you are out riding and see them, don't just invite yourself in un-announced.

Always say something....
"Mind if I latch on with you....."
"Can I try to jump in....."

Say something. ANYTHING.
You might not get the answer you want, but at least everyone is on the same, safer, page.
Hey Hip...I think that's what my momma called "good manners" and when I did not exhibit such, usually got smacked....something that I experience less and less every day.
