And if you decide to go with shimano, their road levers dont work with MTB derailleurs unless you're using Di2. I'd just stick to 1x personally.
I don't think Di2 road and MTB components can be mixed.
My understanding is that the system will remain non-functional when road and MTB components are mixed.
