I've been out of the loop on this for a while, and after getting a good start on commuting home from work, the Covid thing happened and I got laid off at the end of March, so I'm hoping to re-retire (I promised I'd look for a job, I didn't promise to FIND one). Then after a month of sitting around all the time eating and perhaps having a drink or two, I needed to see the doctor for something and stepped on the dreaded scale. That got me back to it, and I started riding every day and adding a mile each day. A week after seeing a different doctor for the first visit, my regular doctor had me come in, and I was expecting to get yelled at about the weight gain, but I'd lost 10 lbs. in a week and my blood pressure was reasonable, so he couldn't really complain about much. The San Diego Century was to be last weekend, but has been postponed until September, and its sister ride, Bike the Coast will be two weeks later, so I need to work back up to that kind of distance. And it would have gone OK except the result of these doctor visits is that I have to have surgery on my foot next month and that will keep me out of the saddle for somewhere around 6-8 weeks. But for May, it's my best month ever:

5/3: 10.0
5/4: 11.1
5/5: 12.2
5/6: 13.3
5/7: 14.2
5/8: 15.1
5/9: 16.1
5/11: 18.3
5/12: 19.1
5/13: 33.7
5/14: 21.2
5/15: 22.3
5/16: 23.1
5/18: 25.0
5/19: 26.9
5/20: 28.2
5/21: 30.1
5/22: 32.1
5/23: 34.1
5/25: 38.3

MTD: 444.4 miles

Once you get up to around 25 miles, adding a mile a day doesn't seem like much, so I started adding two. And I took yesterday off so today I added four. The route extension is easy, I just go a little further up Pacific Coast Highway each day, and it'll be a long time before I run out of road there.
