Early 70’s living in Del Mar California and riding a lot on my PX10, sew ups don’t you know. A certain college student thought it would be fun to get as many free magazine subscriptions as possible. Used to be easy, fill out the post card with some fake information and mail it in. I needed a name and settled on Joe Bikerider. The magazines poured in. Lots of fun. It all kind of fell apart when two guys in suits knocked at the door one afternoon. FBI? No, they were salesmen from a local truck driving school that Joe had apparently filled out a card for! Pretty embarrasing. So I dialed back on the magazines but the name lives on. And I got rid of the sew ups also after I blew out two within 100 yards of my house. $20 each was way more than a college student could afford. Clement
real silk don’t you know. The PX10 lives on.
