A little gravel riding today.
Tried to go up to the Cheam trail head to hike to the summit on the Chipmunk FSR, the usual domain of dirt bikes and 4x4's.
Super steep sustained terrain that called for slow low gear or good old bike hiking.
Made it up about 10km's before gassing out and realizing I wouldn't summit that day so I turned around for 45 minutes of exilerating near technical downhill.
Oh well... Tomorrow's another day.

Some pics:

The time estimates for google maps is funny - apparently they don't take into consideration elevation.

Oh so clean and unsweaty the start always is...

Lot's of big puddles to ride through

Getting steeper...

Some jeeps grinding away in the distance.

Lady Peak with Mt. Cheam out of sight around the corner to the left.

A view of Mt. Slesse behind. It's NE buttress is one of the classic climbs of North America. I was lucky to do it in the late 80's.

Contemplating the long run down

It looks like a lot of this with rough sections thrown in for fun.

A BC logging road gravel bike.
