The first bike in this thread is a 1985 Trek 770. It is one of Trek's all time high points--I know because I worked for a major Trek dealer straight through the 80's. Slightly twitchy criterium-is geometry. You want the ones built with standard Campagnolo or Japanese dropouts, not the Trek-specific dropouts and rear derailleur cable run through the chain stay--Trek did a poor job of this and they're not "class A" bikes with indexed shifting. The original version of the frame, back to another thread here, would be an excellent vintage frame to hang a modern group on. Pink and black--like SRAM Red 22 on one of those. I can tell you from personal experience that 770's are major fun to corner on!
