I joined a Step Challenge at my place of employment and we're about a week from the finish now. Through the Step Challenge, I discovered that I walk about 10,000 steps a day quite naturally, but I've been doing a bit of an extra push so that I've been averaging about 13,000 steps a day during this challenge which started mid-October. It has been motivating.

October was an incredibly busy month ... dealing with illness, travelling 4 weekends out of the 5, attempting a 600K randonnee (completed 390 km of it), finishing my course, and writing my final exam. Unless something very strange happens, I will graduate with a Graduate Certificate in IT in December. Hoping for a bit more sleep in the next week or two. There hasn't been much sleep lately.

Meanwhile ...

Saturday - Rowan and I decided to check out some of the buildings on offer in the Open House Hobart event:

We were thinking of cycling between buildings as we did a couple years ago, but the weather is so bad this year, that we opted to walk instead. It was chilly and very windy with numerous rain squalls. But we did get to see several places.

And I ended up with 13,000 steps on our little adventure.

Sunday -- We cycled the Ranelagh Ramble Randonnee. It is the first ride of the season and described as, "A lovely amble around some of the more delightful roads that the Huon Valley has to offer. Some gravel, a few hills and a bakery to begin and end the ride."

"They" also threw wind, rain, and a range of temperatures into the mix.

Distance: 98.4 km
Elevation: 1080 metres
Moving time: 5 hours 26 minutes 47 seconds ... 18.1 km/h average speed.
Elapsed time: 5 hours 51 minutes 42 seconds

I'll also add that I ended up walking 45.9 km last week.
