As we gathered ourselves together and started slowly rolling, some guy overtaking us on a road bike decided to take a shortcut through the grass rather than wait for us to negotiate the left turn. We rounded the corner just as he was hopping back on to the path about 50' in front of us, but then *his* wheel stuck and he got thrown, smacking on to the path and damn near rolling into the street. I think that there boy's bruised ego felt a little better after seeing that.
