I agree. It's the best mount.
What you can do is buy a case you like and just stick on the universal mount thingie. You don't have to use their case.
What I did was buy an iBattz Mojo Refuel case that takes i9300 Samsung batteries (now, there's irony for you). I also bought the armor thing that makes it like an otter box. With that set up, a fully charged iPhone battery and the battery case, I'm good for 7-8 hours. If I need more, I just take an extra battery and snap it in when it's needed.
