you got that right. of all the frames I have, the one with corrosion on it is an aluminum one (corrosion under the paint in the bottom bracket area).
Glad you are enjoying Montreal biking. Montreal seems to be way ahead of the rest of North America in that regard. They started this whole bike share (rent a bike for ~30 minutes or so) that has litter ally spread to the entire western world. Originally Montreal would just paint the bikes bright green and give it to you for a day with no charge (in exchange for your driver's license).
