Quite a bit of work when I first acquire them. I use wd-40, paper towels, scotch-brite pads, and 800 grit paper under a dripping faucet. Probably as much time is spent on appearance as truing/dish. After they're put in use, I forget appearances ... unless I get caught in the rain.

These rims were not in terrible shape to begin with... they are Legnano branded hubs.
Hope they're working for you. Hubs are Ofmega, I believe.
