After test riding it with the original Simplex derailleurs and shifters, I decided to replace them with almost period correct Shimano derailleurs and Suntour shifters. The plastic Simplex shifters seemed too soft when shifting, it felt as though they could break at any time, and we all know about the plastic Simplex front.
