64 YO here. On longer rides I've had the exact same issue and have lots of saddle time which doesn't lessen the problem. I decided one day to just shave the areas and see what happens. That was a few years ago. Had absolutely no problem with the shaving technique. My longest 1 day ride was 150 miles and was perfectly comfortable, at least the no hair part.....
