My gravel bike with 38 mm tires can do 20 MPH on the flats all day long. I recently hit 51 MPH on paved descent. I was really surprised the first few rides after I built it.

Yeah honestly after that ride I'm tempted to try it. I was getting smoked on the flats and especially descending gravel bits, just totally uncomfortable. It's like I would be with a group of riders and then just lose them any time we hit a significant unpaved section, which was a bit frustrating b/c I had the legs.

I def. saw more disc brakes and 30+ mm tires than what I was sporting, that's for sure. If I had a bike that could take those that's what I'd ride, maybe next year!
