Correct. Can't do that with a black stem. I'm looking to stick with and expand on a specific look with this bike. Person I bought it from shoved a 22.2 black stem in it, I had to "gently" fork it out (it's pretty mangled).
I want to stay in this general wheelhouse, and maybe even seek out a black seatpost in the future, but that's easy compared to finding a black anno'd 22.0 quill stem. I'll probably move towards a navy-colored cable housing too, just to pop off the decals.
