One of the other reports I read indicates that the mountain lion was a juvenile, and hence, may not have had good skills for choosing appropriate prey: https://www.coloradoan.com/story/new...ls/2793963002/

Usually, they tend to go after children and smaller women that are running. I was always taught to get BIG, move slowly, and throw stuff - and generally avoid running around dawn and dusk! Mountain lions were not uncommon in Boulder when I lived there ~15 years ago.
