Just call them.
Many of them have GPS tracking in their vehicles anyway.
I am in Australia and I tell them that I have been involved in a Workplace incident with one of their field units. They are more scared of the Government department that manages workplace incidents than they are of the police as any workplace incident can lead to a review of their entire workplace.
