Ok, I got it. You're saying they have no problem riding by themselves.?.
I've never been on a group ride with someone using aero bar or attachments. Well except in '87 or '88, and it was me. I wasn't banned or kicked out, in fact all the riders didn't even know what they were.
I used the "original" one piece non obtrusive style. And I still do on all my bikes. I ride once a week with my riding buddy with no problems. Of course I have at the very least, average good rider handling skills and I don't use the "aero position" unless he drops me (which is after every stop light). My guess is novice triathletes or cyclist with a little unsure about them made it where they aren't allowed. IDK. But the ones I use have every position available to regular road bars plus a couple of other options.
