Only thing I ever lost on a ride was the battery cover to one of my lights on a rest stop, when I replaced the batteries. Looked all over for it, just a flat piece of plastic. Finally found it down in the grass. Usually I put it in a pocket or somewhere secure if I'm replacing batteries, but I think that time I had a brain fart and just placed it on the seat. I was pretty lucky to find it again.
