That being said, all the gripes about MUP's reminds me of the old Yogi Berra saying " No one goes there anymore, its too crowded".
MUPs vary a lot in terms of speed, sometimes by a lot on the same path. There's a stretch at the northern end of the Minuteman, for example, where you can ride at 25 mph for a few miles without any undue risk.
